Hello for Arkansas!
My favorite was a pioneer dress with matching bonnet and apron that my Mom made for me. I wish that I still had it. I'm going to have to look for a pic of me in it. Now that I think about it, I guess that it is my favorite because Mom and I picked out the materials together. My Mom passed away in 1996 and I really miss her. She always got us pumpkins and we made jack-o-lanters together. What GREAT memories!

Ok, here is my story. One Halloween several years ago we had a knock at our door. We lived at the end of a subdivision where it was very dark and never (and I mean NEVER) had trick-or-treaters so the knock really surprised us. I went to the door and no one was there. I thought it was one of my boys playing a trick on me. We all laughed about it. Then another knock. Again, I went to the door and this time a witch jumped out at me. Scarred me to death! I kept looking around for the kids that must be with this witch. Everyone in the house came to the door since we were so surprised to have a trick or treater. After several minutes of theathrical withchery, the witch spoke. I knew the voice right away. It was my MOM! OMG, she was amazing. None of us had a clue! She had the green face, wart and a beautiful witch costume. My dad walked in the back door and told us it was his idea for the whole thing. Mom said she had to hide the costume several times as she was making it because we would come over. Another cool thing about it was the next fall I made a layout about the night and won first prize in a contest! I am so glad that scrapbooking is such a big part of my life. That is a memory my family will always want to be reminded of.

Ok, so my post doesn't really fit your contest. But it WAS by far the best costume I have ever seen! LOL

I can't remember that far back. But I do have some memories of dressing my girls when they were younger. The most memorable was the year they were clowns. I still have pictures of them in the costumes I made, with their painted faces and their fluffy clown wigs.

My favorite costume is one my mom made for me. I went as a candycorn!! Mom made this little jumper type thing with holes for my legs & a white scull cap. I wore a white shirt & orange leggings under my super cute candycorn outfit. All I know is that I was totally robbed at the costume contest at school!! Mom did such a great job!! It's the one costume that really stands out in my mind- boy was I a lucky little girl!!
