Good Friends,Scrapbooking Stores and More

Don't you find that when you meet fellow scrapbookers you form a special bond, a unique friendship... One that will last you a lifetime. We have a sweet friend, Laura Beene, who lives in Germany, courtesy of the US Air Force. She is originally from Auburn, Alabama and is home for the summer. It worked out that we were able to spend a day with her. So off to the scrapbooking stores we went....What a great day!

GLITZ it UP!!!!

Kay Savage and Lori Smithers of Memories Across The Miles will be at Scrapbook Mania, Bessemer, Alabama on Friday August 22nd for Maniac Madness. Stop by between 4:00pm and 6:00 pm and make a very cute make-n-take. It is a 3x6 journal using beautiful Glitz paper and embellishments.
There is no cost for this project. It will only take a little bit of your time. This will be open to everyone. Please come and check out all the fun!

Who says scrapbookers
don't have a good time?!?! If you are ever in the quaint town of Fredricksburg, Texas you should check out Journey Lane... it's an awesome Scrapbook Store! They carry a great variety of scrapbooking products. We had the best time... and two hours later we walked out with some wonderful scrapbooking goodies. We even ventured back the next day.(and bought more!!!) It's the kind of store that makes you feel good.

Earthquake Story

Shake * Rattle*and Roll !!!! Yes, Lori and I were in Los Angeles for the Earthquake ..."Picture this" we were in Starbucks drinking our morning coffee. Lori's is a Nonfat, NoWhip Mocha... Mine is a Caramel Macchiato extra hot!... Okay, I digress... back to the story - I excused myself to go to the "ladies room". When I walked out, I paused, looked at Lori and said, "ARE WE MOVING"? because the floor beneath my feet was rolling. Lori, who was on the phone with our friend Cassie... says, "I THINK WE ARE HAVING AN EARTHQUAKE".We look at each other with this puzzled look... At that moment... the phone goes dead. People are just standing and looking around. Lights are swaying back and forth...
We hear... GET OUT OF THE STORE! We grab our belongings and run... yes, we run out ... -we were safe!

It was Exciting. Exhausting. Eventful!

Our new song for the occasion... "I FEEL THE EARTH MOVE UNDER MY FEET"!
(we prayed really hard that we would be long gone from California before another one shook the ground!)

Had to share because that was very memorable for us.
